A cast bronze figure of Goethe

Cast bronze with brown shimmering patina. Full-figure depiction of the poet in a buttoned house coat with his hands folded behind his back. Inscribed on the front of the octagonal plinth: "GOETHE 1828". With some stains and a scratch to the forehead. H 35.5 cm.
Model by Christian Daniel Rauch, cast attributed to Noack Berlin, presumably late 19th / early 20th C.

From the property of a Prussian aristocrat.
