Literature

This design is based on a wedding service "after English models" made by George Friedrich Hossauer for the wedding of Prince William of Prussia and Louise Augusta Catherine of Saxony-Weimar in 1829. Later orders were placed with various Berlin goldsmiths, including Vollgold & Sohn, Julius Wilm and the Gebrüdern Friedländer, until the early 20th century. Cf. cat. Kaiserlicher Kunstbesitz, Berlin 1991, p. 280.
