A French mortar

Cast bronze with fine chocolate brown patina. Decorated in three tiers separated by mouldings: The lower register with four acanthus leaves, a lion mascaron and a male bust, the central with meandering tendrils, the upper with slanted fleur de lys motifs. H 12, D 16.1 cm, weight c. 3 kg.
