A Spanish ribbed mortar with mascarons

Thickly cast golden brown bronze with chocolate brown patina. Tapering mortar on a slightly moulded base with a protruding rim. Decorated with four baluster form pillars alternating with male mascarons in round cartouches. The edge dented, slightly unevenly cast in some areas, with some wear. H 10, D 14 cm. With pestle. Weight with pestle c. 7.1 kg.
