An ormolu pendulum clock

Fire-gilt and burnished bronze, glass eyes, glazed white enamel dial. 14-day running movement, spring suspension of the pendulum and half-hourly striking on a bell. With a figure of a sailor holding a pipe and a rope leaning against a large bundle of cargo forming the clock case. Chips to the enamel around the winding holes. H 37, W 30.3, D 11.2 cm.
Paris, early 19th C., model attributed to Claude Galle (1758 - 1815).
