The author of this small, finely painted landscape on copper was clearly inspired by the work of Jan Breughel the Elder as well as by Peter Paul Ruben's painting "The Stalled Carriage" from 1610 (State Hermitage, Saint Petersburg). An infrared photography of this work is available.
