A rare lacquered and painted hinoki wood netsuke of an old sennin. Mid-18th century

Standing firmly on leg in a spirited dancing posture, in his raised hand a double gourd from which he is drinking, his coat lacquered black and red and highlighted with gold, his leafy skirt around the hip of green-glazed pottery. Signed with the beige-glazed pottery seal Kan ((= Ogawa Haritsu, 1663-1747)). Small damages due to age. A little flaking and one leaf missing.
