An ivory netsuke of a female diver (ama). Around 1800

Standing with hair tied at her back and only wearing a rush skirt, the girl holds an egg-shape object with both hands in front of her, reminiscent to the objects held by South Sea islanders. The inscription Masatsugu probably added later. Toes of the right foot ground down a little.
