Flemish late 15th century

A late 15th century Flemish carved wood figure of Saint Jerome (?)

Carved in the round. With partially overpainted older polychromy. A figure of an enthroned older man in priestly attire and a broad brimmed Cardinal's hat designed for a slightly lowered viewpoint. The object originally held in the figure's hands, presumably an attribute, is now lost, but the figure most likely represents the Church Father Saint Jerome.
The left hand reattached. The right forearm and the hand replaced. The left foot beneath the robe lost. The left back corner of the plinth replaced. Wear throughout. 30 x 19.5 x 14 cm.
