An imperial edict in Chinese and Manchu script.

An imperial edict in Chinese and Manchu script. The text mentions the granting of an imperial promotion to a higher rank to the parents of an official named Fo'er Qing'e. Consisting of five fabrics in the colours brown, red, yellow, natural and light brown with woven pattern of clouds. The Chinese text is written right to left and the Manchu text is written left to right. Both inscription fields begin wtih a woven inscription in Chinese characters (feng tian gao ming; imperial order) and in Manchu script, flanked by the dragons. Dated Qianlong 50 (1785), 1st month, 1st day. Sealed Zhi gao zhi bao.
