A four-case inrô in the manner of carved red lacquer. 19th century

To both sides within a lobed cartouche Chinese scholars on a garden terrace underneath a full moon and children at play, a flying bird and various trees rendered in relief, all on a ground of flower-filled intersecting circles. Nashiji and fundame to the inside. Carved lacquer ojime with a peony and carved lacquer netsuke in shape of a Chinese table with iris flowers on top.
