An 18k gold ruby droplet and diamond clip brooch designed as a movable bunch of grapes, can also be worn as a pendant and brooch with detachable mountings.

Designed as a bunch of grapes made up of 32 ruby droplets (in total c. 6.00 ct, primarily Burmese) connected with rings alternating with nine gold droplets accentuated with eight brilliant-cut diamonds (in total c. 1.20 ct, F/G, vs). The looped bail formed from five strands of corded wire and a stalk formed from several strands, their ends set with tiny brilliant-cut diamonds. Can be worn as a pendant or clip brooch. The stalk and double pin brooch mount with safety clasp removable. Hallmarks: Parisian "tête d'aigle" gold guarantee, "Marchak Paris", numbered 23661. H 5.5 cm. Weight 23.65 g.

Within twenty years, the man nicknamed "the Cartier of Kiev" became one of the most respected jewellers in the Russian Empire and was even appointed the Tsar's official supplier. Known for its technical sophistication and creativity, the company owes its success to the ingenuity of its founder.
