A German 18k gold granulation and opal necklace.

Flexible necklace of connected gold rings with an oval granulated clasp centrally set with an opal plaque (c. 11.80 x 8.17 mm, strong opalescence). Hallmarks: Fineness 750, maker's mark. L necklace 36 cm. Weight 29.07 g. In the original velvet case.
Wilhelm Nagel, Wesseling, 1950s.

The gold wire necklace with granulated clasp still clearly shows the influence of Nagel's teacher Elisabeth Treskow and therefore probably dates from the early 1950s when he worked as an assistant in her workshop.
