A Parisian silver gilt communion chalice and patene

Lobed base decorated with extremely finely executed polychrome depictions of New Testament scenes in translucent and opaque enamel; namely the Annunciation, the Adoration of the Child, the Crucifixion and the Entombment. The compressed node inscribed "HOC EST ENIM CORPUS MEUM" between four faceted amethysts. The cup with enamelled scenes from the life of Christ: The Baptism in the Jordan, Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, Christ and St. John, and the Ascension. The lip of the tapering cup inscribed and picked out in enamels: "HIC EST ENIM CALIX SANGUINIS MEI". Engraved below the base "ABBÉ P. CHACORNAC", dated "19-12-1925". The round paten with a polychrome depiction of the Last Supper on the underside. In the original case. H of cup 23 cm, weight 837 g. Diameter of patene 14.8 cm.
