The Temple of Hera in Paestum (formerly known as the Temple of Poseidon) was built around the middle of the 5th century BC during the city of Poseidonia's most prosperous time. The temple was probably modelled on the Temple of Zeus in Olympia, and built in the form of a peripteros.
