A Sino-tibetan bronze figure of Amitayus. 18th century

Adorned with tiara, earrings, multiple necklaces, and bangles, the transcendent "Buddha of infinite life" sits in full lotus position (padmasana) on a double lotus base with an upper row of pearl-like stamens. The hands resting above the feet in dhyanamudra, originally holding the vase containing the nectar of life (amrata). The shawl lies over the shoulders, wraps around the arms, and hangs down to the base. Inside two engraved Chinese characters kuo and zi.
