An 18k gold filigree granulation and lapis lazuli winged scarab brooch.

Unique work. Inspired by the jewellery of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun. Designed as a scarab beetle with wings decorated with fine filigree designs, the oval body formed from carved lapis lazuli (c. 14.2 x 9.7 mm) in a gold wire and granulation surround. Not hallmarked. L 6 cm. Weight 12.56 g.
