A Meissen porcelain figure of a bird seller

Standing in a jaunty pose on a plinth encrusted with flowers and foliage, wearing a brown coat and yellow breeches, holding birds in both hands and with two others in a cage hanging from his hip. Finely painted features. Smoothed base with remnants of blue crossed swords mark. The right hand and chips to the flowers and foliage restored. H 21.1 cm.
Around 1745 - 50, model by Johann Joachim Kaendler, around 1740.
