A rare Höchst porcelain hot chocolate pot with a motif after Nicolaes Berchem

Cylindrical vessel with pronounced shoulders, original lid and wooden handle. Purple wheel mark, incised mark with three dots and cursive L (to vessel and lid). Lid without metal mountings. Chip to the tip of the spout, a reattached breakage to the porcelain part of the handle. H 13.8 cm.
Electoral Mainz Manufactory Höchst, around 1755.

The depiction on the front of the chocolate pot is a mirrored version of a motif from an etching by Nicolaes Pieterszoon Berchem (1620 - 1683).
