An upper Franconian marquetry table

Walnut, burr walnut, maple and boxwood veneers on conifer, solid walnut. Finely moulded apron on curved supports, the knees adorned with cartouche motifs and rocailles. The curved top with marquetry depicting in shepherdess and rococo architecture, presumably after a motif by Johann Esaias Nilson, in a foliate oval surround. The top with horizontal shrinkage cracks. H 69, W 99, D 69 cm.
