A Mainz inlaid cabinet

Solid walnut and walnut, burr walnut, plum and cherry wood veneers with partial branding on cherry and pine corpus, printed leather lining, brass and wrought iron mountings. Cabinet with curved moulded fronts under a carved serpentine pediment. The chest of drawers below on short, carved feet supporting a writing desk flanked by drawers on either side. The upper section with a large central compartment flanked by eleven drawers in five rows. The central door with intricate strapwork marquetry, the drawer fronts and the drop flap with curved marquetry and concentric borders. H 204, W 125, D 67 cm.
