David Teniers the Younger
Jacques D' Arthois

View of the Old Hôtel de Nassau in Brussels with two Falconers and Dogs in the Foreground

Oil on panel (parquetted). 61 x 79.5 cm.

The painting shows the Hôtel Nassau, built in the 15th century on the Coudenberg near Brussels, which offered a magnificent view of the city.
A very similar work by Jacques d'Arthois, painted from a slightly different angle, is housed in the Royal Palace in Brussels.

In her expertise, Dr Klinge attributes the figures and the dogs to David Teniers the Younger and the landscape to the Flemish landscape painter Jacques d'Arthois. A collaboration between these two artists is attested by numerous works.

Certificate
