A 17th century French carved ivory Crucifixion relief

Carved ivory with extensive remains of older polychromy. High relief depiction in a simple surround. The composition of this piece is highly comparable to an ivory relief in the Musée Paul Dupuy (Toulouse) that was presumably based on the same print.
A single vertical crack in the lower centre, otherwise in good condition. Some soiling. Firmly mounted in a velvet covered wooden frame. Height 13 cm, width 8.2 cm.
