Bernard Neyt from Brussels was also active in Spain, Germany and the Netherlands. All his work was religiously inspired and consisted of church interiors and religious depictions. He shared his preference for church interiors with other Belgian Romantic painters such as Julius Victor Genisson (1805-1860).
