Oil on artist's board. 60.8 x 41.4 cm, top rounded. In original frame. Monogrammed 'CM' in yelow lower right. Signed 'C. Mense' lower right on the frame. - Minor marginal defects.

Max Nienhaus was married to Carlo Mense's sister, Klara Nienhaus-Mense. He also painted a portrait of her at the same time - the portraits were possibly intended as counterparts.
