A boxwood netsuke of Shōki and oni. Second half 19th century

Shōki with sword in his hand and scabbard on his back is looking down into a well in which an oni is hiding. The little demon is worked as an ojime, he clings to the cord and can be pushed in and out of the well. Signed Kigyoku. Tiny chip to one hair lock of the oni.
Height of the netsuke 3.2 cm; height of the ojime 1.7 cm
