A Berlin KPM porcelain plate from the dinner service for Prince Friedrich Günther of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt

Perlenteller No. 3 model dinner plate. The upper part of the lip painted with the double-headed eagle. Dated 1835 on the base. Blue sceptre mark with KPM, red imperial orb mark, H in black, impressed mark. D 25 cm.
1835.

Friedrich Günther von Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt (1793 - 1867) was reigning prince as of 1807 and married Auguste von Anhalt-Dessau (1793 - 1854) in 1816. It is not known under what circumstances this dinner service was created, but the principality joined the German Customs Union, which was dominated by Prussia, in 1835. It is therefore quite possible that the prince ordered the service to mark this occasion.
