A large Meissen porcelain candelabra on dolphin supports

Fired in several parts, the feet screw-mounted. The central palm tree shaft entwined by a flower garland and with relief appliques of a female allegory and a cupid. Glazed interior with blue crossed swords mark, engraved model no. 1260, former's no. 50. Restorations to the flowers and leaves, as well as the tails and fins of two of the dolphins. H 99.5 cm.
Mid-19th C., the model presumably by Johann Joachim Kaendler, the branches St. Petersburg, Lomonossow manufactory, before 2005.

This large and magnificent candelabra was probably originally a Kaendler model from the years before the Seven Years' War, which was only preserved in fragments. The owner had the object completed at the Lomonossow manufactory. In the 1850s, Ernst August Leuteritz (1818 - 1893) began to rework older models of crockery, vases and chandeliers from the manufactory and offer them for sale again. These included this candelabra with the model number 1216, although the version he designed has different figural appliques.
