Oil on primed wood panel 40.9 x 3.,6 cm, mounted by the artist onto a thin gray wooden panel bordered in black. Signed max ernst in white in lower right, on verso titled Nocturne with green wax crayon, additionally titled LUEURS DANS LA NUIT with green felt-tip pen, beneath this signed and dated max ernst 1967 in black crayon, and with the inscribed number 1 (circled) in green wax crayon.
