High carat jewellery and select watches

The extensive ‘Jewellery and Watches’ catalogue presents a diverse offer of jewels, high value brand watches and tabatière.

The chapter of Historical Jewellery heralds the beginning of the sale. Particularly noteworthy here are a jeweled Art Nouveau brooch in the form of a naturalistic dragonfly ‘en tremblant’ with enamel plique-à-jour (lot 50, € 7/8,000), a classical Art Déco armband set with circa 9ct of diamonds (lot 69. € 10/15,000), as well as a magnificent Art Déco buckle brooch richly set with diamonds (lot 67, € 25/35,000).

All pieces come from various noble properties.

The chapter of Artist’s Jewellery is especially richly set. For example, the selection includes goldsmith works from the Cologne Workshops, including several works by Elisabeth Treskow, Wilhelm Nagel and Irmela & Karl-Ludwig Grigo, from various collections. One highlight is the small North German collection of early works by the Karlsruhe artist OTTO JAKOB from the 1980s/90s which includes iconic earrings such as ‘Ravens in Armour’, made of ebony and rock crystal (lot 133, € 8/10,000), and the golden ‘Cornucopia’ with chased thorn sprigs and daisies (lot 132, € 6/8,000).

High-carat cocktail jewellery to be offered for sale includes two pairs of earrings by the former Düsseldorf goldsmith Georg Hornemann with diamond pavé, diamonds and emeralds (lots 219 and 221, each € 7/9,000), a Greek fine gold necklace in the form of a naturalistic wreath of dog roses featuring carved emeralds (lot 165, € 10/15,000), as well as several high-carat rings with international certificates such as a cocktail ring with coloured stones and a brilliant-cut diamond solitaire of 6.89 ct (lot 167, € 40/60,000), a lose brilliant-cut diamond of 5.03 ct (lot 181, € 35/40,000), a white gold ring with a brilliant-cut 4.96 ct diamond solitaire (lot 260, € 20/30,000), as well as a solitaire ring with a bright white 2.31 ct brilliant-cut diamond (lot 174, € 20/25,000).

A small group of gold and hardstone snuff boxes round up the offer, featuring a gold tabatière à miniature with a portrait of the young Russian Grand Duchess Anna Pavlovna, Crown Princess of the Netherlands (lot 28, € 4/8,000).

After the exceptionally successful Watch Auction last year, we are pleased once again to offer a diverse selection of high-quality ladies’ and gentlemen’s models in the upcoming sale in May. The catalogue includes timepieces from renowned manufacturers such as Patek Philippe, Rolex, A. Lange & Söhne, Jaeger LeCoultre, Cartier, Panerai, and more.

The highlights feature a Van Cleef & Arpels Lady Arpels Pont des Amoureaux watch in white gold (lot 262, € 70/80,000), the iconic Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711G-001, also in white gold (lot 277, € 60/80,000), as well as a platinum A.
