A rare Tibetan richly gilt bronze figure of Mahakala yab-yum. Malla period, 14th/15th century

Standing in embrance with his shakti on a rectangular lotus base, his face with a ferocious expression, both holding a curved knife and a skull cup in their hands and richly adorned with beaded necklaces, pendant jewels and an elaborate foliate skull tiara, all inset with semi-precious stones. Base open.
