A South German late 15th century rock crystal Crucifixion pendant
Cut rock crystal in a cast and gilt silver surround. The rock crystal set into the delicate oval frame via two prongs. A miniature depiction of Christ crucified set into the front of the crystal, the scene is completed by two silver figures of the Virgin Mary and Saint John to either side. The reverse with a silver figure of the Virgin Mary in an aureola.
Partial wear to the gilding. Minimal wear throughout. Height 6.5 cm (without the hanging loops).
