An early 14th century, probably Alpine carved wooden figure of the Virgin enthroned.

Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened and hollowed out. With partially overpainted older polychromy.. A figure of the Virgin enthroned, designed for a slightly lowered viewpoint. The Madonna holds the Christ Child, shown seated and blessing on her left knee, by his shoulder, the sceptre originally held in her extended right hand now lost. The features and drapery of this devotional piece are depicted in a broad and generous style, emphasising its expressive quality.
