A Flemish oakwood figure of Saint Anthony, first half 16th century.

Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened. Minor remains of former polychromy.. A figure of Saint Anthony with a book and staff standing on a flat plinth beside his attribute, the pig. The figure's contrapposto is emphasised by the drapery of the cloak gathered above the Saint's knee.
With fine vertical cracks and a diagonal crack to the plinth. Wear with losses to the plinth and book. Height 63 cm.
