Oval gouache on ivory in the original gilt capsule frame with plaited hair reverse. Monogrammed lower right "E". H frame 9.6 x 7.8 cm.

The important English miniaturist George Engleheart studied at the Royal Academy in London under George Barret as of 1769 and in the studio of Joshua Reynolds. He was a very productive artist and exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1773 - 1822.
