Mechelen early 17th century

An early 17th century Mechelen alabaster relief of the coronation of the Virgin.

With remains of original polychromy. The relief shows the Virgin kneeling upon a cloud bank surrounded by God, Jesus and the dove of the Holy Ghost. The depiction is accentuated by stippled highlights in gold. In a 17th century frame measuring 22.5 x 20 x 2 cm.
With several fine cracks and some wear. 12.5 x 10 x ca. 1.5 cm.
