Probably South France 17th century

A 17th century probably Southern French ivory figure of the Virgin with Child.

Carved in the round. A finely worked depiction of the Virgin with attenuated proportions. She holds the Christ Child in Her left hand and a flower in Her right.
The head of the Virgin slightly flattened set with a small metal pin. The reverse slightly yellowed. A vertical hairline crack to the left side, otherwise in perfect condition. Loosely set onto a modern socle. Height 12 cm (without socle).
