Gouache on ivory in the original 14k red gold capsule frame, backed with blue and opaline glass applied with a monogram. An English portrait miniature of a young lady in a white dress. 7 x 6.4 cm.
Attributed to Andrew Plimer (Wellington 1763 - Brighton 1837), ca. 1790.

Andrew Plimer, son of a watchmaker, first worked as the servant and later became the pupil of the famous English miniaturist Richard Cosway. He exhibited his idealised portraits of the English aristocracy at the London Royal Academy between 1786 - 1819. His works are unsigned after 1790.
