This piece is based on a work made by Giambologna in 1560 (Florence, Museo Nazionale del Bargello) which also measured just 9.5 cm and was inspired by Doidalses' Hellenistic bronze figure of the crouching Venus, two fragmentary versions of which were kept in Rome at the time.
Slight wear to the patina. Mounted on a wooden base. Height 9.5 cm (without base).
