An important Mannerist iron casket

Keyhole under the upper mounting, the complex locking mechanism to the inside of the lid. Etched to the display sides with intricate hunting, soldier and courtship scenes, foliage, and arabesques. Some studs lacking, some mountings slightly warped, minimal rust. 22.5 x 39 x 23 cm.
