A four-case inrô. Second half 19th century

A four-case inrô with a nô actor in he role of Shôjô with a red mask and a red wig and a seated man on one side, and a scene from the kyôgen play „Suehirogari“ with a man dancing with an umbrella and a courtier, in takamakie-e, hiramaki-e, a little red lacquer and with inlays of mother-of-pearl, ivory and coral on a kinji ground. Signed Shibayama on an inlaid mother-of-pearl tablet and Kashôsai in maki-e. Second half 19th century. Along with an ivory ojime with brass wire and a two-piece ivory manjû with a peony branch and a bird in Shibayama inlays, signature tablet lost. Late 19th century. Width 3.5 cm.
