A carved wooden figure of the Virgin Enthroned, Brussels, circa 1480/1490

Presumably oak, carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse only summarily carved, the back of the throne flattened. Minimal remains of former polychromy. A small devotional piece with finely carved drapery framing the figure of the Christ Child in the centre.
The Child's left arm lacking. The throne with a rectangular addition to the reverse and with a wedge-shaped support. Minimal wear. Height 30 cm.
