Standing on a single lotus base, his principal hands holding the wish-fulfilling jewel in front of his chest, dressed in a pleated ankle-length dhoti, adorned with jewelry festoons, the eleven faces arranged in tiers, surmounted by a jeweled tiara, at the top the head of Amitabha. Glass and hard stone inlays. Attributes missing. Base open.

Legend has it that after witnessing the misery of beings in the hell, Avalokiteshvara´s head shattered into ten pieces. Amitabha constructed ten faces from these pieces and placed a duplicate of his own head at the top.
