A 14th century carved wood Corpus Christi, presumably West German

Carved in the round, the arms visibly attached. With extensive remains of older, presumably orignal, polychromy, only overpainted to the hair and beard. A finely carved three-nail crucifix depicting Christ with His head slightly bowed and His legs parallel, His nude body covered by a green perizonium tied with a simple cord.
Some fingers lost. Minimal wear. Mounted on a velvet covered panel. Height 29 cm, width of arms 24.5 cm.
