A very large gilt lacquer and wood figure of the Medicine Buddha Bhaishajyaguru standing with the right arm hanging down, and holding a small bowl in his left hand, the robes leaving the chest exposed and arranged in undulating folds which curl into spirals. The small hair curls painted blue, the urna painted red. Korea. Joseon dynasty, 17th/18th century.
