A Berlin silver 60th wedding anniversary medallion

In a gilt bronze frame. Celebrating the diamond wedding anniversary of Emperor Wilhelm II and Empress Auguste Victoria, inscribed to the reverse:"ZUM EHEJUBILÄUM – SEID FRÖHLICH IN HOFFNUNG / GEDULDIG IN TRÜBSAL / HALTET AN AM GEBET / RÖMER C. 12 V. 12". In the original case. H 8.7; W 5.5 cm, diameter of medal 45 mm.
The medal signed by Emil Weigand, ca. 1888.

Following his coronation in 1888, Emperor William II commissioned this medallion with the new Imperial couple in the tradition of the anniversary medallion commissioned by William I. The Imperial couple presented these medals to couples on their diamond wedding anniversaries until 1918.
