A painted Empire period panel with a clock

White enamel dial in an ormolu case. 14-day movement with thread suspension and half-hourly strike on a bell, with on/off switch to one side. The recumbent Venus and Cupid is an unusual motif for a clock. Unsigned. Restored. H 50.3, W 69.4 cm.
Painting attributed to Piat Sauvage, early 19th C.
