An Augsburg Renaissance silver gilt tankard

Conical body with C-shaped handle on a moulded base. Decorated throughout with finely embossed and chased fruit swag decor amid scrollwork and shellwork. The corresponding lid with baluster form finial, the thumbrest formed as a cherub. 15.5 cm, weight 386 g.
Marks of Uriel Keesborer, 1616 - 20.
