Probably Central Germany late 15th century

A late 15th century carved wooden Anna Selbdritt group, probably Central German

Probably limewood, carved in the round. Extensive remains of presumably newer polychromy. A figure of Saint Anne standing on an octagonal plinth holding the small figures of the Christ Child and her daughter Mary in her hands. The work's sculptural quality is defined by the long vertical folds and curving hems of Saint Anne's gown.
Saint Anne's right hand and the Child visibly reattached, the hands and one of the Child's feet lacking. A small addition to the back right of the plinth. Height 37 cm.
