Etching on velin d'Arches with watermark "MBM" 31.2 x 22.2 cm (34 x 26.4 cm) Signed and inscribed 'planche refusée'. Inscribed by the publisher Skira or by the printer "1/l Épreuve refusée [...]" (slightly illegible) at lower left. One of 4 proofs. Unpublished motif for the series of 30 etchings on Ovid, Les Métamorphoses, Albert Skira, Lausanne 1931, printed by Louis Fort. - Fine impression with strong burr. Left and upper margin cut, minimally browned in the former mat opening. - Very rare.
